What’s New Wednesday

I haven’t done an update in the past few days because I’ve been putting the finishing touches on the new leanimale.com.  And it’s finally launched!  Please visit this link to continue following my blog and updates as I will be posting there from now on.

And click here to explore the brand new leanimale.com shop.  I hope you like it!

What’s New Wednesday

Le Stegosaurus Carnelian Totem, available here.

Aren’t dinosaurs fun?  This little stegosaurus is my most recent, complete with metallic gold-dusted plates and confidence-inspiring carnelian stone.  He’s perfect if you’re needing an extra boost of courage & confidence, or just need a little motivation to get things done.  Since I’m a on a little dinosaur kick, expect more dinosaurs next week… perhaps in jewelry form!  😉  We’re currently discussing favorite dinosaurs on my le animalé Facebook page, come join us!

Le Rare River Dolphin totem, available here.

Check out a video of this incredible creature.  The pink river dolphin as a totem was actually a suggestion made by a friend on the Facebook page.  I think they are so neat.  Thanks, Pia!

Le Teddy Bear Garnet Totem, available here.

The classic teddy bear!  Since first introducing le velveteen rabbit totem a couple of months ago I’ve been wanting to make a teddy bear.  This particular one will likely not be available again once he sells, but I may decide to list a different teddy bear as a more open edition in the near future.  And the velveteen rabbit will be making an appearance again soon, in a slightly different form than before!

These two little cuties were listed at the end of last week and have been sold, but I still wanted to share their pictures with you. Le Fluffy Chinchilla and Le Crafty Opossum. Enjoy your new homes!

Hakuna Matata!

As some of you may know, I have my own collection of miniature animals that I’ve slowly accumulated over the course of many years.  Well, my collection is primarily animals, but it does have a few odds and ends in it that aren’t animals, because sometimes a miniature is too cute to resist no matter what it is.  🙂  I have new animals, old animals I played with growing up, animals from other countries, animals made of crystal, metal, plastic, wood.  I love finding these little guys!

It should really be no secret how much I love Disney.  I grew up on Disney.  Furthermore, I LOVE The Lion King.  It’s my all-time favorite Disney movie (I love The Little Mermaid and Aladdin too, but The Lion King is all about animals so it wins). When I was younger I knew the entire movie by heart and used to reenact it with one of my friends and my sister (I was a huge tomboy growing up so I always played Simba). Well last year for my birthday my sweet Anand surprised me with this beautiful little Swarovski Simba and told me he was going to take my sister and I to see The Lion King on Broadway!! (Have a I mentioned what a wonderful boyfriend I have?) The show was amazing. It was such a perfect birthday gift, and this little crystal Simba is now one of my most prized miniature animals in my collection with so much sentimental value.  Hakuna Matata 🙂

Painting a Cat

Last week I snapped some photos of my painting process on this custom pet totem, Cece.  I hadn’t originally planned to make an animation out of them, but I think it’s actually kind of fun. When I make more in the future I’ll try to keep the same angle and maybe take them with my real camera instead of my iPhone.  😉

Here’s a photo of the back –

And the finished product with varnish –

Ta-da!

What’s New Wednesday

It’s such a beautiful day in North Carolina!  I have to say this winter has been one of the best I can remember. I like it when you can wear a coat & boots but you don’t necessarily need gloves or a hat, and it hasn’t gotten cold enough (for the most part) to warrant gloves or a hat, or even a scarf most of the time.  And if I miss the accessories, I can just put on a lighter jacket so wearing them doesn’t get too warm.  Perfect.

So yesterday was Valentine’s Day and I got to spend a lot of time with Anand which was really great.  I hope everyone had a lovely day!  And today with it being such a nice day out today I’ve been a little less productive than normal, so you’ll see more new items trickling into my shop over the next few days as I finish everything that’s currently in progress.  With that said, I am really excited about the new totems I did get to  finish and list today!

Le Adventurous Narwhal Totem Necklace, available here.

Le Cat Tigers Eye Totem, available here.                Le Otter Peridot Totem, available here.

These are new custom pet totems I finished last week: Nicky the pomeranian and Cece the fluffiest cat ever!  Right now I am able to take orders for custom pet totems by request; if you’d like to request one please contact me through my Etsy shop or email leanimaleshop (at) gmail (dot) com.

What’s New Wednesday

Hooray for new totems!

Le Aardvark Citrine Totem, available here.          Le Resilient Pelican Totem, available here.

I’ve been meaning to make an aardvark for a long time and he is finally here!
They’re so strange that they’re cute.  Don’t you think?  😛

Le Strong Buffalo Totem, available here.              Le Generous Coati Totem, available here.

Le Narwhal Carnelian Totem, available here.  Le Himalayan Monal Amethyst Totem, available here.

BAM! Color.  I call this little narwhal “Firecracker.”  🙂  And if you haven’t seen beautiful himalayan monals before, check out these photos.  Aren’t they gorgeous?  Thanks Pia!

Le Powerful Triceratops Totem, available here.  Le Piglet Rose Quartz Totem, available here.

Whenever I look at this little piglet I am immediately taken back to childhood stories like Babe and Charlotte’s Web.  I loved Charlotte’s Web!

Le Peaceful Tapir Totem, available here.              Le Binturong Obsidian Totem, available here.

A binturong has been in the works for a while too and I have had several requests for them in the past couple of months.  Here is my first one!  Tidbit – Binturongs are also known as bearcats.

I have been working steadily on custom orders, the website, and mapping out plans for the year, but you will see more and more animal totems (and totem necklaces) in my shop over the next month or so as I replenish my stock.  I’ve got a couple more fun surprises coming soon, too, so don’t forget to check in!  You can also keep up with these new developments, announcements, and other fun on Facebook and Twitter.

Coming Soon: A New leanimalé.com

Here it is!  This new website design is one of the bigger projects I’ve been quietly working on for the past few months.  Since it is finally nearing launch time, I am very happy to be able to share it with you!  The new website will house both my blog and a full shop where you can purchase your favorite le animalé goods (and maybe even exclusive editions!)  No worries, my Etsy shop will remain open as well.  😉

The website is slated to launch by the end of the month, and when it does, this mockup is similar to what you will see when you visit the new http://www.leanimale.com!

So, what do you think?
